The chapter analyses the multiple influences played by architects, painters, sculptors in shaping the idea of "arts synthesis" after WW2. Milan offers many occasions to develop collaborations, connections and experimental designs. The role played by Lucio Fontana's "spazialismo", the lively Triennale milieu, the growth of the new city all open up a space for new ways of overcoming the disciplinary boundaries.
