Dove finisce la paura e dove comincia il desiderio. Politiche della memoria e margini di azione di rifugiati e richiedenti asilo in Italia

This thesis questions the bureaucratic pathways that shape asylum seekers' subjectivities in their encounters with Italian institutions and, at the same time, the margins of agency hardly obtained by the different subjects involved in these processes. Building on ethnographic material, this work explores the ambiguous and dynamic nature of the Italian asylum system, as well as the multiple ways through which asylum seekers can try to perform, transform or subvert the legal and moral categories imposed on them.
