This work tries to identify efficient instruments for the evaluation of processes of education. In particular, the final aim is the construction of a set of indicators to assess the programs offered to foreign adults by Italian Schools within the territory of Bergamo. The set of indicators allows to identify four dimensions which are crucial to understand the topic of interest: learning, welcoming, socialization, integration. For each one of the four dimensions above, this analysis identifies a set of primary and secondary indicators. Moreover, these indicators lead to the formulation of a series of specific questions concerning different aspects of the courses (organization, methodology, contents, teachers) useful to evaluate the processes. Moreover, this analysis allows to investigate in details on the problems and difficulties of the programs of Second Language Acquisition for foreign adults: the importance of immigration, new educational needs, the necessary coexistence of different cultures and languages, the identification of new strategies of education and organizational problems. As required, a twofold analysis is developed in this work: -Empirical: collection of data from the sample, use of semi-structured interviews, analysis and observation of secondary sources. -Theoretical: investigation of the theoretical framework behind the learning of L2 and of the efficiency of using indicators in order to assess education. The ultimate result of this work is the identification of an instrument which can be used in several other educational contexts, with particular regards to the activities concerning questionnaires, interviews and check-lists.
