Generatività(s). La responsabilità di essere figlie e figli

The book is focused on parenthood and generativity; I consider them not only as biological functions, but above all as capabilities to be responsible and grateful for having been created. To be born means to come from a fundamental encounter and to be in an interdependent relationship. Therefore we can reconsider motherhood, emphasizing the historical and social function of women, while also reflecting on male identity and fatherhood. To insist on parenthood and care as human characteristics, and not only as a specific female frame, brings us to focus on gender relationships in a gylanic perspective.

Il libro affronta il tema della genitorialità e della generatività, intese non soltanto come funzioni biologiche, ma come capacità di rendere conto, in modo responsabile e grato, dell’essere state/i generate/i. Essere al mondo vuol dire venire da un incontro fondamentale ed essere in un legame di interdipendenza. Si propone di tornare a riflettere sulla maternità, sottolineandone la funzione storica e sociale per le donne, ma anche sul rapporto tra identità maschile e paternità. A partire da alcuni focus group e testimonianze narrative su creatività, genitorialità e generatività emerge come la cura possa essere intesa e vissuta come capacità umana e non soltanto femminile; e come tale consapevolezza promuova un necessario ripensamento del rapporto tra i generi in prospettiva gilanica.
