The book answers the following questions:How many and what are the biggest changes currently underway in society that condition our emotions and the most intimate choices of our everyday lives? How do social changes happen and what is the tie between individual emotions, collective emotions and the changes happening? Which social processes and relationships govern the egalitarian trends in modern society, such as the rise of democracy, humanitarianism and global competition? These questions are the starting point for a reading and critical discussion of resentment in order to understand some of the changes currently taking place in different social structures (religion, politics and economics).
