This 3rd Workshop on The new boundaries of structural concrete, organized by Università degli Studi di Bergamo and ACI Italy Chapter, continues the tradition of its previous successful editions. The workshop is one of the key events organized by ACI Italy chapter: the proceedings once again demonstrate the key role ACI plays in promoting the dissemination in concrete research and technology. As in the previous editions, topics of the workshop are related to structural concrete and its recent advances: the main topics are performance and life-cycle costs of new concrete structures, controlled-performance concrete, new scenarios for concrete; concrete quality control on site. In total, the proceedings, encompassing all of the above topics, collect 27 papers from both Italian and international research teams. The contributions are all in the fore-front of concrete technology and advances, proving that concrete and concrete technology are as lively a research topics as ever. Regardless of the reduction in the cement use and production which is nowadays observed, the interest in concrete technology proves to be extremely high, and the research is focused on finding always higher performances. The use of recycled aggregates is among the topics which finds interest for life cycle cost optimization of concrete. A significant amount of papers are devoted to characterize high performance concrete, fiber reinforced mixtures, use of nano-particles in cement matrix and to find new applications and testing methods.

Abstract
This 3rd Workshop on The new boundaries of structural concrete, organized by Università degli Studi di Bergamo and ACI Italy Chapter, continues the tradition of its previous successful editions. The workshop is one of the key events organized by ACI Italy chapter: the proceedings once again demonstrate the key role ACI plays in promoting the dissemination in concrete research and technology.
