Abstract
Business and prison may constitute a possible combination. With mutual benefits for both the company, which has the opportunity to start a business that can compete in the market, both for the inmates , who are given the opportunity to gain experience and skills they can use in the labor market as a result of carrying out a “normal” work activity which will significantly contribute to the social reintegration after release. The work of the detainees , especially those employed by private entities, will therefore have to take place in an entrepreneurial context as much as possible. After a particular historical introduction and a brief summary of the regulatory framework of the material (chapter I) , are reported in chapter II the latest guidelines of jurisprudence and doctrine, preceded by proposals for a systematization of a subject traditionally fragmented and disorganic. In the first two chapters is highlighted in the mentioned trend towards a progressive " privatization" of prison work . The third chapter reviews the tools in support of individuals who undertake an economic activity in prisons. These instruments have proved crucial to compensate, at least in part, the increased costs that the firm assumes that detainees will face. In the last chapter some recent data are reported, highlighting the critical issues and the potential of prison work. Finally, some proposals are put forward in order to give new impetus to a matter involving the rights , expectations and interests of the entire society, not just the narrow circle of insiders.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
