Aggrovigliare, macchinare, deformare. Deleuze con Peirce

This thesis proposes a theoretical alliance between Gilles Deleuze and Charles Sanders Peirce. If Deleuze read only a "second-hand Peirce," through Gérard Deledalle's anthologies, to work at the intersection between Deleuze and Peirce is of course an equivocation, or even, a hermeneutical equivocation. In this sense, the thesis shows first and foremost a method of "hermeneutic machination". At the crossroads between two heterogeneous traditions of thought we try adventurously to highlight some consonances and continuities. The attempt is to hold together Deleuze’s and Peirce’s cosmological aspirations, as well as a new image of thought that lives in the mutual relation between virtuality and actuality, i.e. between generality and individuation. Continuity and discontinuity are in this perspective a “conceptual perimeter” for an equivocation between Deleuze and Peirce, at the intersection of semiotics and immanence.

La tesi propone un’alleanza teoretica fra il pensiero di Gilles Deleuze e Charles Sanders Peirce. Se Deleuze ebbe accesso solo ad un “Peirce di seconda mano”, attraverso le antologie di Gérard Deledalle e non lesse mai direttamente la sconfinata opera di Peirce, proporre di lavorare all’intersezione fra Deleuze e Peirce non può che configurarsi come un equivoco, e nella fattispecie come un equivoco ermeneutico. In questo senso la tesi esibisce anzitutto un metodo di “macchinazione ermeneutica”, abitando il crocevia tra due tradizioni di pensiero radicalmente eterogenee, per metterne in luce in maniera abduttiva ed avventurosa consonanze e continuità. Il tentativo è quello di tenere insieme l’aspirazione cosmologica con cui Deleuze e Peirce guardano al reale, nonché una nuova immagine del pensiero, che vive nel rapporto mutuale fra virtualità e attualità, ovvero fra generalità ed individuazione. Continuità e discontinuità sono in questa prospettiva i cardini mobili entro cui giocare l’equivoco Deleuze/Peirce, all’intreccio fra semiotica ed immanenza.
