Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) represents a stage between physiological and pathological ageing with a risk of progression to dementia. Non-pharmacological treatments are relevant to prevent and slow cognitive decline and studies in neuroaesthetics suggest that preferred music can enhance attention and motivation. The aim of this study is to integrate a neuroaesthetics module into a cognitive telerehabilitation protocol and assess its effects on cognitive and psychological variables in MCI.

Abstract

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) represents a stage between physiological and pathological ageing with a risk of progression to dementia. Non-pharmacological treatments are relevant to prevent and slow cognitive decline and studies in neuroaesthetics suggest that preferred music can enhance attention and motivation. The aim of this study is to integrate a neuroaesthetics module into a cognitive telerehabilitation protocol and assess its effects on cognitive and psychological variables in MCI.
