Le parole del delirio. Immagini in migrazione, riflessioni sui frantumi (Words in the delirium. Images in migration, reflections on shards) is a book that seeks to reflect on some of events of the last two years and on the shattering of reality. Trying to bring into being a writing that emulates montage, the book concentrates in the first instance on one of the wildest features of our contemporary scene: men, woman and children who are allowed to enter Europe only by way of being snagged on the barbed wire at its border or as “castaways” in the Mediterranean. We then run through the political choices with which the European Union supposes that it can govern an ever-enlarged sector of the world’s population, which has been transformed by those very choices into mere bodies, whether surviving, dead or “lost”. This is a politics of delirium all of whose effects can be seen in the images that have reproduced them.

Le parole del delirio. Immagini in migrazione, riflessioni sui frantumi è un libro che prova a riflettere su alcuni degli eventi degli ultimi due anni e sulla frantumazione della realtà. Cercando di inventare una scrittura del montaggio, il libro si sofferma innanzitutto su uno degli aspetti più deliranti della nostra attualità: uomini, donne, bambini/e a cui si permette di arrivare in Europa solo impigliandosi nei fili spinati delle sue frontiere e come “naufraghi” del Mediterraneo. Vengono ripercorse così le scelte politiche con cui l’Unione europea immagina di governare una parte sempre più consistente della popolazione mondiale, trasformata in corpi sopravvissuti, morti o “dispersi”, dalle sue stesse decisioni politiche. Una politica del delirio di cui si sono visti tutti gli effetti grazie alle immagini che li hanno riprodotti.
