Ivan Turgenev: la doppia natura amletico-donchisciottesca dell'intellettuale russo dell'Ottocento

The knowledge of the characters Hamlet and Don Quixote and of their authors in Russia it happens by the middle of 18th century. The author of the first important study on these two characters, "Gamlet i Don Kichot" (1859), is Ivan Turgenev. In this article he establishes a parallel between Hamlet and the Russian intellectuals of aristocratic origin of the ‘40s, and between Don Quixote and the democratic intellectuals of the following generation.

La conoscenza dei personaggi Amleto e Don Chisciotte e dei loro autori in Russia avviene intorno alla metà del ‘700. L’autore del primo studio importante su questi due personaggi, “Gamlet i Don Kichot” (1859), è Ivan Turgenev. In questo articolo egli stabilisce un parallelo tra Amleto e gli intellettuali russi di origine aristocratica degli anni Quaranta, e tra Don Chisciotte e gli intellettuali democratici della generazione successiva.
