As well known, in the works of Gregory of Tours the orthography is puzzling: forms like decim or ligiret occur beside the standard forms decem and legeret, apparently at random. In this paper I preliminarily discuss the possibility of analyzing and accounting for such orthographical discrepancies according to the information structure of the text, which is strictly tied with the intonational contour of the sentence.
