This article proposes a reflection on the status of the contemporary image in relation to Live in the web and related technology. Through the experiences of artists like Joan Fontcuberta and Sophie Calle, the article tries to analyze the uses of photography now widespread in the web, favored by its fluid-digital dimension and by the development of its new habitat, the interactive horizontal web: this combination allows to theorize a new type of image, "connected" and "conversational", to use an expression coined by André Gunthert.

Abstract

This article proposes a reflection on the status of the contemporary image in relation to Live in the web and related technology. Through the experiences of artists like Joan Fontcuberta and Sophie Calle, the article tries to analyze the uses of photography now widespread in the web, favored by its fluid-digital dimension and by the development of its new habitat, the interactive horizontal web: this combination allows to theorize a new type of image, "connected" and "conversational", to use an expression coined by André Gunthert.
