Yves Bonnefoy’s friendly relationship with Jean Starobinski started at the beginning of the sixties and continued for all their life long becoming also a rich intellectual dialogue, if Bonnefoy took for a year in 1970 Starobinski’s chair in Geneva’s University. Their collaboration has been very intense in congresses (in Geneva, whose critical school was near to Bonnefoy’s approach, and at Fondation Hugot of the Collège de France since Bonnefoy was nominated professor) and publications. Our article describes in the first part the history of this friendship and it studies, in the second part, some Starobinski’s critical essays about Bonnefoy (from his preface of his Poèmes 1978, 1982 to other contributions published later) and a Bonnefoy’s article about Starobinski (Pour introduire à Jean Starobinski, in La communauté des critiques, 2010), in order to see in this human and intellectual friendship the lines of a common approach to literature and criticism based on the value of “relationship” and “presence”.

Abstract
Yves Bonnefoy’s friendly relationship with Jean Starobinski started at the beginning of the sixties and continued for all their life long becoming also a rich intellectual dialogue, if Bonnefoy took for a year in 1970 Starobinski’s chair in Geneva’s University. Their collaboration has been very intense in congresses (in Geneva, whose critical school was near to Bonnefoy’s approach, and at Fondation Hugot of the Collège de France since Bonnefoy was nominated professor) and publications. Our article describes in the first part the history of this friendship and it studies, in the second part, some Starobinski’s critical essays about Bonnefoy (from his preface of his Poèmes 1978, 1982 to other contributions published later) and a Bonnefoy’s article about Starobinski (Pour introduire à Jean Starobinski, in La communauté des critiques, 2010), in order to see in this human and intellectual friendship the lines of a common approach to literature and criticism based on the value of “relationship” and “presence”.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
