In 1929 and 1930 the Government leaded by Benito Mussolini instituted a complete reform of the Italian Ecclesiastical law. Before the new Concordato and the statutes on Jewish and non-Catholic communities were enforced, that branch of law was the result of the Risorgimento’s political needs, but it also included an inheritance of various Italian legal traditions; none of them, anyway, fit in the political and social ideas expressed by the Italian Fascism. The essay looks at the main features of the reform, in comparison with the main features of the previous system. Then it provides an overview of some of the most relevant mainstreams of studies during the 1930s.

Abstract
In 1929 and 1930 the Government leaded by Benito Mussolini instituted a complete reform of the Italian Ecclesiastical law. Before the new Concordato and the statutes on Jewish and non-Catholic communities were enforced, that branch of law was the result of the Risorgimento’s political needs, but it also included an inheritance of various Italian legal traditions; none of them, anyway, fit in the political and social ideas expressed by the Italian Fascism. The essay looks at the main features of the reform, in comparison with the main features of the previous system. Then it provides an overview of some of the most relevant mainstreams of studies during the 1930s.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
