This article focustes on the transmission of values in families with teenagers (15-19 years old) with particular attention to what and how these values are passed on from one generation to another. 381 families living in northern Italy took part in the research and for each of them one teenager, a couple of parents and a grandmother (where possible) were involved in the study. Each participant filled in a questionnaire. The study allowed us to understand the main values of each generation by highlighting similarities and peculiarities. It also enabled us to obtain precious information useful for orienting adolescents’ choices with respect to values.
