The effect of evaporation on the oscillation angular frequency of an inviscid drop is analytically investigated. The evaporation is found to increase the oscillation frequency, and this is driven by two non-dimensional parameters, one accounting for the fluid properties and the other for the evaporation conditions. An investigation of the conditions for which the effect can be detected is reported for some evaporating species; low pressure environment enhances the variation of the oscillation frequency with respect to the non-evaporating case and the magnitude of this effect is quantified.

Abstract
The effect of evaporation on the oscillation angular frequency of an inviscid drop is analytically investigated. The evaporation is found to increase the oscillation frequency, and this is driven by two non-dimensional parameters, one accounting for the fluid properties and the other for the evaporation conditions. An investigation of the conditions for which the effect can be detected is reported for some evaporating species; low pressure environment enhances the variation of the oscillation frequency with respect to the non-evaporating case and the magnitude of this effect is quantified.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
