Emperor Constantine was a complex and, in many ways, difficult to decipher historical figure. In this text we discuss three of his imperial constitutions, concerning the practice of the art of haruspices. Their interpretation is significant for the reconstruction of Constantine's religious policy before the Council of Nicaea took place.
