Utilizzo dei dettagli verificabili nelle interviste. Comparable Truth Baseline

This experiment explored the combined use of two approaches used in interrogations: The Comparable Truth Baseline (CTB) and verifiable details. Thirty-seven university students performed two sets of tasks that mimicked an undercover mission. All told the truth about the first set, while for the second half, half of the participants lied, and half told the truth. Results showed that focusing on verifiable details in CTB interviews could be an effective strategy, as only liars reported a different amount of verifiable details between the two task sets. However, there are limitations that have been discussed.

Il presente esperimento ha esplorato l’uso combinato di due approcci utilizzati negli interrogatori: la Comparable Truth Baseline (CTB) e i dettagli verificabili. Trentasette studenti universitari hanno eseguito due set di compiti che rispecchiavano una missione sotto copertura. Tutti hanno detto la verità per quanto riguardava il primo set. Riguardo il secondo set, metà ha mentito e metà ha detto la verità. I risultati mostrano che focalizzarsi sui dettagli verificabili in interviste CTB potrebbe essere efficace, poiché solo i bugiardi hanno riportato una diversa quantità di dettagli verificabili tra i due set compiti. I limiti dello studio sono stati discussi.
