The article disseminated the results of a research developed in many archives (mainly Triennale of Milan and Fondation Le Corbusier) concerning the impact of the speech delivered by Le Corbusier at the IX Triennale in 1951. Through the analysis of the letters exchanged with prominent European scholars, designers and architects such as Rudolf Wittkower, Max Bill, Ernesto Rogers, James Ackermann, Carlo Mollino and others, a multilayered program emerges, articulated in between theoretical contribution and political agenda.

Abstract

The article disseminated the results of a research developed in many archives (mainly Triennale of Milan and Fondation Le Corbusier) concerning the impact of the speech delivered by Le Corbusier at the IX Triennale in 1951. Through the analysis of the letters exchanged with prominent European scholars, designers and architects such as Rudolf Wittkower, Max Bill, Ernesto Rogers, James Ackermann, Carlo Mollino and others, a multilayered program emerges, articulated in between theoretical contribution and political agenda.
