The interview with Brazilian theatre director and performer Paula Carrara explores the language, the impact and the challenges involved in the mise en scène of "Canto das mulheres do asfalto" by Carlos Canhameiro, performed in a jammed public square in Sao Paulo and in other public venues. The issues of the public's participation, the dynamic of self-explore as well as the constant re-elaboration of the script are here analysed from a "first line" viewpoint.
