Different pedagogical views may change the way we interpret personalization in education. Starting from the concept of «value» developed by Neo-Kantianism and strongly convinced that learner’s interests should be placed at the center of teaching, Georg Kerschensteiner, one of the leading figures of Activism at the beginning of the 20th century, came up with a clear vision of personalization which drives him to dispute the traditional idea of «general knowledge». Although some philosophical concepts he used are obsolete, the German pedagogist’s thoughts are still actual.

Abstract
Different pedagogical views may change the way we interpret personalization in education. Starting from the concept of «value» developed by Neo-Kantianism and strongly convinced that learner’s interests should be placed at the center of teaching, Georg Kerschensteiner, one of the leading figures of Activism at the beginning of the 20th century, came up with a clear vision of personalization which drives him to dispute the traditional idea of «general knowledge». Although some philosophical concepts he used are obsolete, the German pedagogist’s thoughts are still actual.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
