The essay describes how apprenticeship is practised and regulated in the Italian province of South Tyrol. This case is particularly interesting, as the region - from a cultural point of view - represents a German enclave in the Italian territory and benefits from legislative and administrative autonomy. At the end of his analysis the author tries to sketch a pedagogical evaluation.
