This paper analyzes the way of looking at aging and his values with a pedagogical approach. Late-life is commonly a period of transitions: getting older determines many psycho-physical changes, but retirement is often the major transition faced by the elderly because it has certain consequences, such as reduced income and altered social role and entitlements. In a global capitalist economy and postmodern culture, based on increasing speed, greater complexity, consumption, and individualistic approach, it could be the beginning of an isolation process, and it could lead to social exclusion. So we can refer to education and training as forms of restoration to human, relational and social capital. We think the meeting with aging experience can teach the human meaning of the finitude, the awareness of own relational and social vulnerability, and the importance of personal and shared intentionality, which is dependent on a sense of time that connects past, present, and future. Furthermore, our capacity for moral responsibility requires intergenerational relationships.
