This research work concerns with the development of a roadmap for complex products design based on an improved modular approach. The main goal is to refine a new product development paradigm integrating different methodologies and to test it on an industrial case study. The obtained design paradigm has been applied to a product of the household appliances field. A design process has been carried out adopting the improved Modular-TRIZ-DSM approach, and the results obtained, mainly in terms of modules definition and interfaces, have been evaluated.
