The essay investigates the Italian actor Antonio Maiori, who emigrated to the United States at the end of the XIX century and became famous in a short time in the theatre of the communities of Italian emigrants. Considered an emulation of the great actor Tommaso Salvini, he tried to found an Italian professional theatre in his new homeland.
Il saggio indaga sull'attore italiano Antonio Maiori, emigrato negli Stati Uniti alla fine del sec. XIX e divenuto celebre in breve tempo nel teatro delle comunità degli italiani emigrati. Considerato emulo del grande attore Tommaso Salvini, tentò di fondare un teatro professionistico italiano nella nuova patria.
