Among the new materials proposed for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (IT-SOFC), Sr-Mg-doped LaGaO3 (LSGM) and Sr-doped LaMnO3 (LSM) could be good candidates as electrolyte and as cathode material, respectively. The long time and high operating temperature nevertheless induce cationic interdiffusion and reduce the cell performance. A nanometric yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) layer was interposed between LSGM and LSM in order to prevent any ion diffusion between them. Aim of the present work is to report the preparation and the characterization of the nanometric layer.

Abstract
Among the new materials proposed for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (IT-SOFC), Sr-Mg-doped LaGaO3 (LSGM) and Sr-doped LaMnO3 (LSM) could be good candidates as electrolyte and as cathode material, respectively. The long time and high operating temperature nevertheless induce cationic interdiffusion and reduce the cell performance. A nanometric yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) layer was interposed between LSGM and LSM in order to prevent any ion diffusion between them. Aim of the present work is to report the preparation and the characterization of the nanometric layer.Pubblicazioni consigliate
