Heidegger’s handling of the question of technology is to contextualise in his “Ereignis-Denken” as well as in the debate about the destructive connection between a kind of “instrumental” reason and the technological means used by it, which was conducted in the aftermath of World War II. Around the mid-1940s, Heidegger defines the essence of technology as “enframing” and affirms that this latter made it impossible for the truth of Being to unfold itself through the relationship between mortals and divinities, sky and earth. Nevertheless, Heidegger’s proposal of a transmuting “free” relation to technology drafts an attitude towards “new” technology able to run over all plain refusal or dedication: opposite approaches, whose effects could be likewise harmful.

Abstract
Heidegger’s handling of the question of technology is to contextualise in his “Ereignis-Denken” as well as in the debate about the destructive connection between a kind of “instrumental” reason and the technological means used by it, which was conducted in the aftermath of World War II. Around the mid-1940s, Heidegger defines the essence of technology as “enframing” and affirms that this latter made it impossible for the truth of Being to unfold itself through the relationship between mortals and divinities, sky and earth. Nevertheless, Heidegger’s proposal of a transmuting “free” relation to technology drafts an attitude towards “new” technology able to run over all plain refusal or dedication: opposite approaches, whose effects could be likewise harmful.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
