The essay deals with the context of Cisalpine Republic and Napoleonic Reign of Italy, of which it outlines the way the legal system provided for social control, with special regard to urban spaces, to check the relationship with the French laws that mostly inspired it, to find out that it was far from a simple copy and paste operation, showing on the contrary the complexity of legal transfer within the specific social control issue.
