This paper examines the covariation of bodily and cognitive qualities in the context of Aristotle’s psycho-physiological account of the ensouled body (de Anima, Parva Naturalia, biological treatises). The focus will be on blood variations, with the aim of providing a detailed physiological explanation of their relation to cognitive variations.
