The contribution, after presenting the change in analytical perspective made necessary by the fragmentary nature of the data and the anomaly of the sources on the contagion, presents the theoretical-methodological approach of the research on the Covid-19 epidemic. It is assumed and applied, in a more or less obvious way, in the various chapters that make up the volume to investigate the interaction between the epidemiological and socio-territorial aspects of the individual Italian regions. More specifically, the contribution identifies, firstly, the three different phases of the contagion of the first epidemic wave, on the basis of the speed of propagation and the intensity of its spread, and, secondly, identifies the aspects of contemporary living that may have influenced the epidemic trend in Italy. This approach finds its legitimacy, on the one hand, in the importance currently attributed to spatiality for understanding social phenomena, i.e. where things happen, and, on the other, in the assumption of the paradigm of reflexivity in cartography which attributes to mapping a power as a medium capable of favouring such understanding. The aim of the Atlas is to show that the territories of the epidemic are anisotropic and influenced by territorial aspects, thus making it possible to identify the different Italian fragilities in a dual perspective: a) to offer an initial study for the prevention of future epidemics; b) to reflect on a more balanced way of inhabiting territories.

Abstract
The aim of the Atlas is to show that the territories of the epidemic are anisotropic and influenced by territorial aspects, thus making it possible to identify the different Italian fragilities in a dual perspective: a) to offer an initial study for the prevention of future epidemics; b) to reflect on a more balanced way of inhabiting territories.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
