The essay focuses on the political police strategies, offices and activities managed by the Reign of Lombardy-Venetia, under the crucial influence of chancellor Metternich, in the context of the Austrian Empire complex security design, encompassing in intentions the whole Italian territory and more. Attitudes, measures, impact on individual situations and structural limits are taken into account to offer a multi-perspective sight on the political policing system most abhorred during the Risorgimento.
