Le first lady del Quirinale e la Costituzione. Contributo allo studio del ruolo costituzionale delle consorti e delle supplenti consorti del Presidente della Repubblica nell’ordinamento italiano

In Italy, there is no official role for the presidential first lady, however the history of the Republic indicates many different ways of playing the role of the President's wife. Alongside a historical and institutional reconstruction, and a specific investigation on the title and treatment due to the President's wife, the contribution aims to identify the common lines of the activities of the various presidential first ladies, investigating in particular their role according to the Constitution, beyond the interpretation given by each person who has played their role over time. A role that is not purely formal and ceremonial, but helps to outline the role of the President himself.

In Italia, non esiste un ruolo ufficiale per la first lady (rispetto al Presidente della Repubblica), tuttavia la storia della Repubblica indica molti modi diversi di intendere e svolgere il ruolo di consorte del Presidente. Accanto a una ricostruzione storica e istituzionale, e a un’indagine specifica sul titolo e il trattamento dovuti alla consorte del Presidente, il contributo si pone l’obiettivo di identificare le linee comuni all’attività delle diverse first lady presidenziali, indagando in particolare quale debba essere il ruolo alla luce della Costituzione al di là dell’interpretazione data da ogni persona che ne ha rivestito il ruolo nel tempo. Ruolo che non è puramente formale e cerimoniale, bensì si spinge a restituire una costruzione articolata e complessa del ruolo del Presidente e della consorte attraverso il combinato disposto degli artt. 2, 29 e 87 Cost.
