Abstract

Introduction. In 2006, The World Health Organization proposed an urban regeneration programme aimed at creating age-friendly cities. Today, the 2030 Agenda ONU affirms how healthy aging is not only a personal achievement but also the expression of a more cohesive and equitable society. Method. The essay explores some questions associated with age-friendly cities, like the quality of life and intergenerational solidarity, and analyzes the perspectives of an intergenerational system, showing the importance of educational guidelines for elderly care. Results. Accessibility and inclusion are the prerequisites for the care of social well-being in old age. Domiciliary is a topic of further analysis, which affects both urban regeneration and caring. Conclusion. Pedagogical reflection on the value of care moves in the direction of favoring its generative and regenerative attitude, both on the pedagogical level of the relationship of help with the person and in the context of life. There are, also, positive effects for the inclusion of socio-economic disadvantaged elderly.
