This work investigates the cognitive function of key n-grams in a corpus of self-published homosexual erotica on the internet. By triangulating the quantitative data with the Schema Theory and with some basic tenets of psychoanalysis (in particular, the notions of phantasm and universal narrative sequence), we try to demonstrate how key lexical bundles activate simple and repetitive scripts that perpetuate a symbolism of patriarchal dominance and traditional relations of power between genders.

Abstract
This work investigates the cognitive function of key n-grams in a corpus of self-published homosexual erotica on the internet. By triangulating the quantitative data with the Schema Theory and with some basic tenets of psychoanalysis (in particular, the notions of phantasm and universal narrative sequence), we try to demonstrate how key lexical bundles activate simple and repetitive scripts that perpetuate a symbolism of patriarchal dominance and traditional relations of power between genders.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
