The manuscript 53 of the Biblioteca Cathariniana in Pisa preserves a collection of texts connected with school of Saint Victor and namely with the figure of Hugh of Saint Victor. This «victorine» collection opens with a copy of the Summa sententiarum, i.e. one of the major theological writings of the central decades of the twelfth century, whose authorship is still debated but can be certainly traced back to the theological milieu of Hugh and his pupils. This contribution offers an analysis of the Pisan manuscript, trying to replace it within both the manuscript tradition of the Summa and the cultural framework of Tuscany between twelfth and early thirteenth centuries. Through such a historical-critical exam of the manuscript, the article evidences the intellectual exchanges between the Pisan area and the Parisian cultural milieu.

Abstract
Through such a historical-critical exam of the manuscript, the article evidences the intellectual exchanges between the Pisan area and the Parisian cultural milieu.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
