Ti-6Al-4V alloy is a popular titanium alloy due to its high strength / density ratio, high toughness, superior corrosion resistance and good biocompatibility. After forming operations, Ti-6Al-4V is typically subjected to Solution Treatment and Over-Aging (STOA). Fatigue is one of the most frequent causes of failure in mechanical components. The prediction and optimization of the strength of structural components under cyclic loads therefore plays a strategic role and must take into consideration the presence of defects. The aim of the work is to investigate the axial fatigue behaviour of Ti-6Al-4V alloy not subjected to STOA in inert environment in the presence of notches. The experimental results agree well with the results obtained using the Haigh diagram.

Abstract
The experimental results agree well with the results obtained using the Haigh diagram.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
