This contribution studies the presence of Dante’s works in the 16th century, in the period of revival of Petrachan style. In particular, we will analyse how Pietro Bembo, in his Prose, estimated Dante’s production, in comparison with other theorists of his time, including Girolamo Muzio and his endecasyllabic treatise De arte poetica (1551).
