Prospettive di studio del parlato dialettale a partire dagli etnotesti dell’ALEPO (Atlante Linguistico ed Etnografico del Piemonte Occidentale)

The article aims to describe the characteristics of the ethnotexts present in the ALEPO (Atlante Linguistico ed Etnografico del Piemonte Occidentale, Lin- guistic and Ethnographic Atlas of Western Piedmont) archives, both published and unpublished, and to study how the linguistic material contained therein could eventually constitute a text corpus. We will outline the main features of the Atlas in comparison with similar research projects, focusing in particular on their sound archives. After that, we will examine the implications of the presence of ethnotexts on the overall economy of a linguistic atlas, and we will explain how ALEPO has dealt with oral texts so far. Then we will put forward some hypotheses on how the data of the Atlas could be processed in order to constitute a corpus, even in light of the great deal of linguistic variation present in the covered area.

L’articolo ha l’obiettivo di descrivere le caratteristiche degli etnotesti editi e inediti presenti nell’archivio dell’ALEPO (Atlante Linguistico ed Etnografico del Piemonte Occidentale) e di studiare come il materiale linguistico che contengo- no possa costituire un corpus di parlato. Dopo aver presentato i tratti principali dell’Atlante in rapporto a progetti di ricerca simili, con particolare riferimento agli archivi sonori, si osserveranno le implicazioni della presenza degli etnotesti nell’economia generale di un atlante linguistico, illustrando in quale modo l’ALE- PO ha trattato finora i testi orali. Quindi si proporranno alcune ipotesi su come i dati dell’Atlante possano essere elaborati in modo da costituire un corpus, anche alla luce della grande variazione linguistica presente nell’area interessata.
