The origin of the stories that Fenoglio tells, beginning with the oral narrations heard in the family reunions and in the trattorias of Santo Stefano, lives in a close intimacy with the natural world which finds correspondence in a writing anchored to the world, far from the usual perspectives of representation. For Fenoglio, writing means first of all listening to the voices of others and returning them with all the brands of origin with which they are impregnated, treating words as bodies sentient beings born of the great organism of nature, which generates and contains them. There is a basic animism that runs through its pages and shapes them through a material writing, always out of key with respect to the horizons of expectation of its first critics-readers, who are unable to place it in any of the categories acquired, with blunders and misunderstandings that Fenoglio feels like an open wound throughout his life.

Abstract
The origin of the stories that Fenoglio tells, beginning with the oral narrations heard in the family reunions and in the trattorias of Santo Stefano, lives in a close intimacy with the natural world which finds correspondence in a writing anchored to the world, far from the usual perspectives of representation. For Fenoglio, writing means first of all listening to the voices of others and returning them with all the brands of origin with which they are impregnated, treating words as bodies sentient beings born of the great organism of nature, which generates and contains them. There is a basic animism that runs through its pages and shapes them through a material writing, always out of key with respect to the horizons of expectation of its first critics-readers, who are unable to place it in any of the categories acquired, with blunders and misunderstandings that Fenoglio feels like an open wound throughout his life.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
