The paper aims to analyze Assia Djebar’s novel Les nuits de Strasbourg (1997) starting from the poetics of relation by Édouard Glissant and the conception of absolute translation by Jacques Derrida. In the novel, the town of Strasbourg appears as a space where otherness and the promise of a society without hegemonic cultures are inscribed.
