The present essay provides an insight on the printed editions of the ancient commentaries of Dante’s works and of the current bibliography on the topic. During the Eighteenth century and the first part of the following, little attention has been paid to the commentaries to the Commedia. However, starting from 1965, Dante’s centenary, the scholars have shown a new interest in these studies and from the Nineties of the past century on, and new commentaries and critical editions have been published. The article also includes a bibliography of the critical editions and the commentaries published between 1965 and 2008.

The article also includes a bibliography of the critical editions and the commentaries published between 1965 and 2008.
