Disclosing information is becoming increasingly important for firms and their stakeholders as the need for accountability intensifies. The disclosure literature has identified underpinning drivers of propensities to disclose information, one such driver is firm ownership, particularly family firm ownership. Within this stream of literature, research has identified that further nuances also moderate the driving impact of family ownership, such as board interlocks. Thus, this article tests the effect of board interlocks on family (and non-family) ownership and disclosure on a sample of Publicly listed Italian firms. Our results shows the effect of family ownership on disclosure is weakened by the presence of board interlocks. This contributes to the literature another variable that influences the disclosure practices of firms.

Abstract
This contributes to the literature another variable that influences the disclosure practices of firms.Pubblicazioni consigliate
