In order to develop novel catalytic materials for applications in green technology of waste treatment and/or fuels production using solar energy, a series of La/Fe perovskites have been studied. LaFeO3 and La0.8Sr0.2Fe0.9Cu0.1O3-w nanopowders were prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion method, using citric acid as complexing agent. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), N2 adsorption (BET surface area), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS) and electrochemical measurements of the photo-behavior under irradiation with a 300W Xe-arc lamp. The effects of different calcination temperatures and surface concentration of carbonate-type species on the photocatalytic activity for degrading methylene blue dye solutions were investigated.

Abstract
The effects of different calcination temperatures and surface concentration of carbonate-type species on the photocatalytic activity for degrading methylene blue dye solutions were investigated.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
