Children’s literature is characterised by a marked interdisciplinarity. Nowadays it regards an ever greater visual component. Actually children’s literature, since the beginning, finds its pedagogical value in the integration of word and image to encourage the development of understanding and creativity of children. Nowadays in a multimodal universe words are accompanied by images, sounds, interactions, but formal and up-to-date transformations do not cancel the importance of “classic and traditional stories”, that remain a relevant foundation in children’s development.
