Grotowski is considered by the historian of theatre the man who deeper has changed the way to intend and, above all, to do theatre. He thought theatre as a continuous work on himself, as an instrument of his knowledge, both the practice and the intellectual one. The purpose of this extract is to show how through the idea of physical actions, which characterize both theatre and physical education, these two disciplines transform themselves in a space in which the subject can develop, grow and meet with the Other.

Abstract

Grotowski is considered by the historian of theatre the man who deeper has changed the way to intend and, above all, to do theatre. He thought theatre as a continuous work on himself, as an instrument of his knowledge, both the practice and the intellectual one. The purpose of this extract is to show how through the idea of physical actions, which characterize both theatre and physical education, these two disciplines transform themselves in a space in which the subject can develop, grow and meet with the Other.
