Nowadays, 14 million people in Poland live in prefabricated neighbourhoods based on the plattenbau techniques, developed after the Second World War. Starting from the case study of the Tarchomin district in Warsaw, the contribution explores the characteristics of these districts, recognizes their conditions, and values, and tries to propose an operational approach for their regeneration, oriented to the idea of adapting them to the current living needs of their populations.
