The history of foreign immigration in Italy is also the history of its representations in the mass culture. In this sense, this paper takes into account some of these representations in Italian cinema, music and TV series since the Eighties. Looking at more recent productions, the contribution aims to evaluate the new protagonism of immigrants and second-generation Italians in the panorama of the cultural industry in relation to the imaginaries and the rhetoric consolidated in previous decades.

Abstract
The history of foreign immigration in Italy is also the history of its representations in the mass culture. In this sense, this paper takes into account some of these representations in Italian cinema, music and TV series since the Eighties. Looking at more recent productions, the contribution aims to evaluate the new protagonism of immigrants and second-generation Italians in the panorama of the cultural industry in relation to the imaginaries and the rhetoric consolidated in previous decades.File | Dimensione del file | Formato | |
