Disaster preparedness, feelings of worry and likelihood judgments concerning the occurrence of a future flood disaster have been collected by means of a survey administered to 407 persons living in nine villages surrounding the Lys river (Aosta Valley). Descriptive analyses show direct relation between likelihood judgments and feelings of worry; this last one is also in relation with adoption of protective behaviours and others socio-demographic and experiential characteristics. Multivariate analyses indicate that adoption of protective behaviour is associated with feelings of worry, while there is no relation between likelihood judgments and disaster preparedness.

Abstract
Disaster preparedness, feelings of worry and likelihood judgments concerning the occurrence of a future flood disaster have been collected by means of a survey administered to 407 persons living in nine villages surrounding the Lys river (Aosta Valley). Descriptive analyses show direct relation between likelihood judgments and feelings of worry; this last one is also in relation with adoption of protective behaviours and others socio-demographic and experiential characteristics. Multivariate analyses indicate that adoption of protective behaviour is associated with feelings of worry, while there is no relation between likelihood judgments and disaster preparedness.Pubblicazioni consigliate
