The diffusion of Gerusalemme Liberata is also demonstrated by its success on the stage, particularly in the opera theatre: situations and characters from the poem crowded the theaters starting from the final years of the sixteenth century. The present intervention intends to give an account of some episodes of the musical fortune of the poem, a fortune that extends over several centuries.
